Despite the rain, hundreds of people, from near and far, turned out to see Thatcham Town Council honour the Royal School of Military Survey based at Denison Barracks, Hemritage, with the Freedom of the Town.

The date, 20th July 2011, was picked as it is also the occasion of the 90th Anniversary of the Royal British Legion. Thatcham Town Mayor, Councillor Lee Dillon, presented a scroll to the Principal of the Royal School of Military Survey Mr John Knight, whilst Brigadier Hallas inspected the troops.
