Kingsclere outbuilding badly damaged by fire

POLICE have appealed for information, after a Kingsclere outbuilding was set on fire. According to Hampshire Constabulary, some time between 9am and 9.30am on Thursday, May 10, an outbuilding in The Dell, Kingsclere, was set alight, causing considerable damage. The area is often frequented by dog walkers, so police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something suspicious. ENGINEERS from Thames Water had their work cut out to stem this astonishing geyser last night. As Newburytoday.co.uk first reported yesterday (Wednesday), the water jet shot more than 30ft into the air when a water mains burst in Chieveley - and continued to spout. Drama as accident victim is airlifted from middle of the road

AN ELDERLY pedestrian, struck by a vehicle on the A339 in Newbury, was airlifted to hospital this morning (Thursday). His condition is described as serious, but stable. The southbound lane of the A339 remained closed until just before 1pm, causing gridlock in the nearby area.
